Story Behind KittenHood
KittenHood was the first game GameQuest made. This project was meant to introduce the game designing processes to my teammate. Here I explain what sprites are and the logic behind interreacting coding using GameMaker language. We also used GameMaker Lite, an outdated version of GameMaker, to provide both simple GameMaker Language and drag and drop option for easier understanding behind the logic of game coding. We even practiced the pre-production process of game designing, such as brainstorming, planning all potential assets, and dividing responsibility among the group members to effectively cover the most ground. Despite the flaws and inexperience shown in this project, KittenHood was one of our most successful game that taught us many lessons to incorporate in many future projects.

Venture Out to Fight Tyranny
KittenHood's narrative is base on the old folktale Robinhood. Here the player will play as a skilled archer known as KittenHood. The objective is to venture out and collect the stolen gold from the evil government. The government consist of many big villains that governs different parts of the world, such as Lumberjacks that controls the forest, Mafia Dragon that controls the caves, and many other big villains with their groups roaming in these lands.
My Contribution to KittenHood
In this project, I was appointed team leader to over sees everyone's progress and teach the members the game design process. While I was teaching the members, I was also lead artist for this project. Here I am in charge of the player movement, background, collectibles, and even the user interfaces. I had other artist do the designs for the boss characters and minions of the level. I also did the level design of the game some coding for UI and the boss movement code.

The End to Our Grand Quest
Despite having so many ideas and plans for future levels of KittenHood, members from GameQuest became too busy and had other priorities to continue working. Because of this, it was a unanimous decision to only complete the first territory for Lumberjack and his minions as a demo to showcase the game. We unfortunately could not find the time to incorporate many other characters from the Robinhood folktale, but this experience has given us many things to learn from and to take notes of our failures to improve ourselves. Using what we have learned, we strive to create more and better games in the future!
